The new fourth edition of the Poreč Open Air Festival will begin on the first day of July and the summer party on the streets of Poreč will last until 14 September. The circus troupe Circus in the City will open the program with its new show, which will present the original Cabaret show to all the visitors. The much-loved Circus in the City, where well-known jugglers, stilt walkers and aerial silk dancers have already made themselves at home will entertain the visitors on the summer stage in Riva until 12 August.
The novelties of this year’s Poreč Open Air Festival are Beats & Bites, World Plates and 3D Video Mapping. Beats & Bites is a new concept that will turn a summer Tuesday in the beautiful garden of Villa Polesini into a romantic picnic, where visitors will enjoy not only the sunset and gentle melodies, but also the beautiful lighting, decorations and food. Igor Geržina and Vanda Winter will open the Beats & Bites program on 2 July, while Zsa Zsa Acoustic, Matija Cvek Trio, Vesna Pisarović Quartet, The A!, Mia Dimšić Acoustic and Iva Smojver Acoustic Trio will entertain visitors during the summer.
World Plates is the perfect opportunity for those who want to get to know the local and national cuisine of different places. This year visitors will be able to get acquainted with American, Italian, Mexican and Istrian cuisine. In addition to the aromas of BBQ ribs, bruschetti, tacos, brodet and other delicacies that will spread the streets of the picturesque Poreč, the full experience will be completed by music from the country of origin as well as the appropriate ambiance. The Music Part of World Plates will open with the Scifidelity Orchestra on 11 September. They will use their instruments to fire up the audience and put smiles on the visitors’ faces. Other musical guests include The A!, The Janitors and The Blondes, while music legend Bajaga i Instruktori will close this superb music story on Poreč Riva on 14 September.
After the already traditional lighting of the walls along the promenade of Lungomare, which gave Poreč a new view, this year, visitors will enjoy the new attire of the City Hall, which will provide a new visual spectacle with the unique 3D Video Mapping technique. Visitors will be able to enjoy this visual experience every Friday at 9:30 pm from mid-July until the end of August. 3D Video Mapping is a blend of architecture, design and audio-video technology that easily converts every surface into a dynamic video wall.
Comfortable lounge chairs in the Villa Polesini garden or on the Lungomare meadow will be reserved for movie lovers as part of the Open Air Cinema program. The best film hits will be screened in the evening hours from 1 July until 21 August. The Princess ball will again this year turn the park in front of the castle in the Valamar Collection Isabella Island Resort on the island of Sveti Nikola into a fairytale place where the little ones can enjoy the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. On Sundays, starting from 14 July, Istra Inspirit, an interactive family fun-educational program, will be offering a fun exploration of history with magical music, fairies and elves, and the mischievous Macmalići dwarves to both home and foreign visitors.
